Day 1:
The first day will consist of our Propane Response – 101 to Advanced Tactics™ class where we dive into high-level tactical decision-making with engaging on-screen presentations, physical display props, and product demonstrations. Topics include:
- Propane behavior, pressure management, and temperature control.
- When to roll a tank to control venting, flaring liquid vs. vapor.
- Plumbing/piping systems, tank options, attachment points, and valving.
- Water injection, vehicle orientation, and pressure gauge verification.
Day 1: Practical Application Session
Put your knowledge into action with hands-on training:
- Safety briefing
- Multiple flare setup/operations
- Operations with 20 lb., forklift cylinder, and 100 lb. tanks.
- Vehicle/tank assessment: Condition, orientation, volume, pressure, issues, and dangers.
- Tactical response considerations:
- Fully functional bulk truck (MC 331 – bobtail/semi transport simulator).
- Leak conversion and management (trapped liquid, valve activation).
- Residential tank with multivalve and underground tank operations.
- Flaring operations
- Water injection techniques
- Open discussion
Day 2: Hands-On Training in “The Shop”
Deepen your real-world understanding and troubleshooting skills with interactive sessions:
- Swap out liquid and vapor valves on live tanks/cylinders.
- Disassemble system components to learn their functions.
- Work with industry-standard tools to understand their applications.
- Pinpoint excess flow valve locations for better connection management.
- Achieve maximum flow and reduce on-scene time.
