Description
The 1/2″ Flare Kit is designed to be small enough to carry on about any rig it gives the department a way to flare any tank with a POL or QCC Type 1 connection as delivered. From 1 pound disposable bottles and up the size of the container matters not. When we say small, it just means it will take longer to flare down a MC-331 Transport, but you can still hook it up!!!
It also has the ability to connect to a standard 1 3/4″ Male ACME connector for additional options.
20lb. cylinder FULL to no liquid test.
How long does it takes to empty a 20 lb. cylinder? Exchange cylinders are typically only filled with 15 pounds or 3.5 gallons, for this test the spit gauge was used and it was filled to I assume 80-85 % depending on the tube length or 4.7 gallons. The original thought was that it would take 5-8 minutes to empty the cylinder . The cylinder was inverted and the test started at 16:30; it took 3 minutes and 25 seconds to empty the tank of all liquid, or 1.3 gallons per minute. As expected there was no frost on the tank until the liquid was removed and vaporization initiated. Frost appeared approximately 1-ingh up from the bottom (inverted tank). This is due to the length of the OPD valve protruding into the cylinder . The cylinder continued to produce vapors until all of the liquid converted to vapor.
